January 08, 2013 to January 08, 2012
Join us for the Toronto premiere screening of DOCTORS OF THE DARK SIDE, the untold story of the physicians and psychologists who have worked with the US government to torture victims in the so-called "war on terror." This screening is co-presented by the Justice for Majhoub Network, the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture and Amnesty International Canada, and will feature special guest speakers.
DOCTORS OF THE DARK SIDE Exposes the role psychologists and physicians play in designing, facilitating & covering up torture by the US military in the "war on terror." SYNOPSIS: Doctors of the Dark Side exposes the scandal behind the torture scandal — how psychologists and physicians implemented and covered up the torture of detainees in US controlled military prisons. The stories of four detainees and the doctors involved in their abuse show how essential doctors have been to the torture program. Director Martha Davis (Interrogation Psychologists) spent four years investigating the controversy and produced the documentary with an award-winning team that includes Oscar-winners Mark Jonathan Harris (Writer) and Mercedes Ruehl (Narrator), and Emmy-winner Lisa Rinzler (Director of Photography). Editor M. Trevino (Hidden Battles) led the post-production team of the feature length documentary.
