Growing Healthy Communities - Children, Youth and Food in Ottawa

We are planning a community discussion to celebrate initiatives that increase access to healthy, nutritious, sustainable food for children and youth in Ottawa. This event would serve as a forum to discuss the current climate of food access for children and youth, our success stories, lessons learned and ways forward to further improve the landscape of food for children in Ottawa. We are seeking proposals for guest presenters to share in their experiences and provide unique perspectives on such topics as (but not limited to): * Schoolyard and community vegetable gardens * Healthy food programs in institutions (daycare centres, schools, after school programs, summer camp programming) * Healthy food programming in communities * Food access and nutrition for children and youth We invite all of those interested in using the dialogue as a venue to share your innovative programs and/or discuss food access for children and youth in Ottawa to submit proposals for either: (a) a fifteen minute presentation; (b) a poster presentation; or (c) a table display. Please note: The table display is only available to organizations with projects, programs and/or activities related to children, youth and/or food.
