Public Names for Public Spaces Rally

September 06, 2011

The City wants to sell out the names of Toronto's parks, subway stations, and public spaces to big business. Join the Toronto Public Space Initiative at our rally this September to put a stop to it!
Our public spaces reflect the vibrant history and civic identity of the City and they should not be for sale. To send strong message to Mayor Rob Ford and Council that they should keep their hands off our City's public spaces and subway stations, we have organized a rally this coming September 6th.
Please plan on attending with a few friends or invite your friends on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=106561772778277
We are asking everyone to wear green in a show of solidarity.
Rally in front of the main doors of City Hall.
- Please wear something green
- Please bring a few friends
- Creative signs are welcome
In the mean time, we urge you to write to your local city Councillor to let them know that our city names are not for sale: http://app.toronto.ca/im/council/councillors.jsp
Please download and print (or photocopy to save money) the posters below and post them around your neighbourhood to spread the word. Please remove these posters after the event or 30 days after posting, or let us know where you placed them and we will.
