2011 Convention: Association for Women in Sports Media
June 23, 2011 to June 25, 2011
AWSM's annual convention will run from Thursday, June 23 to Saturday, June 25 in the exciting city of Charlotte, N.C.! The Omni Charlotte Hotel in the heart of uptown Charlotte will be the host hotel for our meeting. Located at the corner of Trade and Tryon streets, the hotel features oversized guest rooms and complimentary high-speed wireless internet.
Throughtout the convention there will be many discussion groups held over breakfast, break-outs, and in the early evening, such as: Climbing the Ladder: How to Be an Effective Leader; All-platform journalism: You want me to do what? Maybe you’re already in broadcast looking to sharpen your reporting skills. Maybe you’re in print thinking about a move to broadcast or you’re simply wanting to sharpen your on-camera skills; The Art of a Good Pitch; Working with the Media and for the Team; Social Media: Making the most of Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere; and Women’s Sports Brand: Is it hitting the mark?
