Sustain-a-City Film Festival

Sustain-a-City, the first event of its kind in Swift Current, SK will feature a pair of highly acclaimed environmental films Saturday, March 19 at the historic Lyric Theatre downtown.
"The documentaries and speakers at this event will provide the entire community with an opportunity to investigate how our choices affect our health and happiness, as well as the future of our planet," explained Caroline Barrington of the organizing committee.
Informative speakers based right here in Saskatchewan have been arranged to provide a local perspective. Marian McBride, representing Saskatchewan Organic Directorate, will lead discussion following the movie FRESH, and Brent Kreuger of Craik Sustainable Living Project will help bring the event to a dynamic conclusion following NO IMPACT MAN.
• The 2 pm matinee, FRESH, is all about food - a common element of our lives, but one that has many of us in a state of confusion. FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and busienss people in North America who are reinventing our food system with positive alternatives to the industrial model. • The 7 pm show is NO IMPACT MAN, the entertaining chronicle of a New Yorker who decides to make a difference for the planet by phasing out everything that is detrimental to it, while bringing his family along for the year-long ride.

The host group, Swift Current Citizens for Environmental Action (SCCEA), is a non-profit organization devoted to providing education and planning events in Swift Current with a focus of reducing our ecological impact and lowering carbon emissions.
