Pink Mountain Revisited (Lecture)
February 28, 2011
You may have heard Ron Long speak about the rare and unique plants of Pink Mountain in the past. This year Ron returned to the mountain and was horrified to learn of plans to literally wipe the plants off the mountaintop. Because it is so far to the north, Pink Mountain is out of sight and out of mind of conservationists so government and industry are free to exploit its resources for profit regardless of the cost to the incredible biodiversity of this area. Ron hopes to change that. Ron's talk will discuss new information about this amazing plant community as well as the birds and animals of Pink Mountain then move on to the threat and a possible alternative.
