Countering Threats to Security and Stability: Lessons Learned from Colombia

Peter DeShazo, the Director of the Americas program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, will be presenting a new CSIS report on Colombia. He was deputy assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs and deputy U.S. permanent representative to the Organization of American States. He served in U.S. embassies and consulates in La Paz, Medellin, Santiago, Panama City, and Caracas. He is also a member of the faculty at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
