Jonathan Smucker: How To Be A Radical
January 28, 2019
Why do some social justice movements fail? How can grassroots organizers and activists build better movements that change the world?
Jonathan Smucker is the Director and Co-founder of Beyond the Choir, and has worked for more than two decades as an organizer and strategist for social movements.
In his new book, Hegemony How-To, he exposes the dysfunctions of social movements, and provides a practical guide to political struggle for a generation that is deeply ambivalent about questions of power, leadership, and strategy.
Jonathan will be in conversation with Michal Hay, who is Executive Director of Progress Toronto and was the 2017 Campaign Director for Jagmeet Singh's NDP Leadership Campaign.
