Building Relationships, Affirming Rights and Protecting the Environment

November 25, 2017

Sponsored jointly by the Public Interest Law Centre and the Department of Geography (University of Winnipeg), this Anniversary will feature robust dialogue on cutting edge issues from a distinguished and eclectic group of Manitobans and Canadians. We will celebrate PILC achievements in enhancing access to justice in partnership with community groups, Indigenous people, students, academics and the legal community. Just as importantly, it will ask for your input on future approaches to key public interest issues facing PILC clients, our communities and our province.

The event will canvass topics related to:
-the relationship between Indigenous and Western legal traditions
-financial inclusion and payday loans
-water, the economy and the environment
-the impact of the Charter and human rights codes on low income persons as well as persons living with disabilities.

To encourage attendance to this event from a diversity of individuals and organizations, there is no charge to register: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/pilc-35-building-relationships-affirming-rights-and-protecting-the-environment-tickets-38157102922?aff=es2
