Water is Life: An Indigenous worldview on protecting our land and waters

November 11, 2017

SUSTAINABLE LIVING Series

Join us for an engaging sustainability workshop on the preservation of our natural resources, from an Indigenous perspective. We'll be joined by the University of Waterloo Aboriginal Centre team to learn about protecting our lands and waters, and how to address treatment of drinking and wastewater, with the holistic understanding that "water is life." The session will be jam packed with traditional Indigenous activities, including a smudge ceremony and sharing circle! Two research talks that combine traditional Indigenous and ecological knowledge will be given:

Session # 1: Indigenous worldview, water and land 'protectors not protesters' - Amy Smoke
Session # 2: Treatment of drinking and waste water - Tyler Owl
