Carbon Accounting - You can't manage what you don't measure
November 23, 2017
Carbon accounting is the practice of measuring and tracking all of the carbon that is released into the atmosphere as a result of a company's (or a person's) actions - that is, all of the carbon that they are responsible for.
Since "you can't manage what you don't measure", carbon accounting is the first step to understanding (and improving) a company's environmental and carbon footprint. Our speaker, Lulu Li and her team will be sharing with the audience why understanding a company's carbon footprint can help to measure the impact of sustainability projects on its emissions, and bottom line is important. Next, she will talk about how quantifying carbon emissions can prepare companies for compliance with industry/governmental standards such as mandatory reporting, Cap-and-Trade, or Carbon Tax. Lastly, she will share short term and long term strategies to help companies achieve low carbon performances that will reduce operational cost, reduce non-compliance risks, and drive company participation.
There will also be a discussion session with the speaker and other attendees.
