Toronto's Opioid Crisis: A Grassroots Response

September 11, 2017

Fentanyl overdoses in Toronto are on the rise, and the municipal and provincial governments' inaction regarding the ongoing opioid crisis is inspiring a community response unlike any other we've seen. From pop up safe injection sites to private citizens carrying life saving overdose antidotes on them "just in case", Toronto residents are taking care of each other.

Join us for an evening of conversation and action on Monday, September 11th. We will have the opportunity to learn more about:
• The government's response (or lack thereof) to the opioid crisis in Ontario
• What grassroots groups and ordinary citizens are doing to support harm reduction endeavours in Toronto
• What OPSEU members and community allies can do to help them

This event is open to OPSEU members and the public. ASL interpretation is provided, a light meal will be served to all, and our meeting space is accessible and safe.

Time: 6:00pm
Venue: OPSEU
Location: 31 Wellesley St. E Toronto, ON
