Marx in the Parks: Angela Davis
June 18, 2017
The Communist Party of Canada - Parkdale Club presents a reading group of classic Marxist Leninist texts. We're going to be discussing the first 3 chapters from Angela Davis' "Women, Race & Class"

1. THE LEGACY OF SLAVERY: STANDARDS FOR A NEW WOMANHOOD 2. THE ANTI-SLAVERY MOVEMENT AND THE BIRTH OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS 3. CLASS AND RACE IN THE EARLY WOMEN’S RIGHTS CAMPAIGN
The group will be relatively informal (the only homework is reading!), conversational and we hope accessible enough to benefit long-time Marxists and the curious alike!
