Street Party: For a #FairFuture
May 11, 2017
The CLC is partnering with the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) to host a Street Party for a #FairFuture, at the intersection of Bay and King, the heart of the Financial District of downtown Toronto. The party will start at noon as part of the 2017 CLC Convention.
This action will showcase the labour movement's commitment to making Canada a fairer place for everyone. For Canada's unions, a #FairFuture includes decent work, a $15 minimum wage and the right to join a union, but it also means challenging racism, Islamophobia and xenophobia, while championing equity, social justice and a green economy.
Unions and delegates are encouraged to bring their flags, and the CLC will be providing signs, noisemakers, and popcorn to make for a festive noon-hour event. There will be music, speakers, dancing and much more.
Hosted by the Toronto Airport Workers' Council
Time: noon
Location: intersection of Bay and King Toronto, ON
