he Great War led to the achievement of considerable economic gain throughout industrialized countries. When Canada's soldiers returned home from Europe, they discovered that the war had been used to amass fortunes. Ryan Targa will give a lecture and a presentation on how moral judgement operated in wartime societies to include or exclude various behaviors or attitudes.
Ryan Targa is a fourth year PhD student at York University finishing his dissertation on profiteering in Canada during the First World War. Ryan has been involved in several public history projects at York University.
