To mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day (which the UN General Assembly designated January 27, marking the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau), Shaar Shalom Synagogue invites you to learn about the tragic shared history between the LGBTQ and Jewish communities as they screen "this powerful classic narrated by Rupert Everett, describing the painful story of the treatment of gay men during the Nazi years. For some people, this history is new, but even more than 70 years later, its importance remains."
Post-film, keynote speaker Ken Setterington and a panel of scholars will discuss the film and the events of the day.
