Community Energy Planning for a Low-Carbon Future
January 18, 2017
Speaker: Fernando Carou, P. Eng., Senior Engineer, Environment and Energy Office, City of Toronto
We’ve all heard about the importance of saving energy and reducing emissions in our own homes. But can we do the same thing on the scale of whole communities? According to our speaker, Fernando Carrou, the answer is yes, and we can gain a lot in the process. He’ll show us how the City and local neighbourhoods can partner to shape Community Energy Plans that cut greenhouse gas emissions and create local jobs, while keeping funds generated in the community.
Come and learn about what’s possible, what’s happening in other parts of the city and how the same approach might be applied right here in Ward 21. We’ll be leaving some time for discussion at the end, so please bring your questions and ideas!

Venue: St. Matthew’s United Church in The Oakwood Room
