Abstract:
The intention of the Women's Research Centre is to work closely with women who do not normally have access to research facilities or who lack the skills to do such work themselves. Working along with other women, the staff (1) collects information and prepares materials, reports, etc., that are relevant to women's needs, e.g. wife battering, sexual harassment on the job, immigrant women, women and economic development; (2) works with women to develop their own skills in collecting and assessing information, preparing and presenting work and knowing how to make use of work done by others; (3) aims to make the information and knowledge generated generally available to women in the community.
The Centre has been funded since January, 1977, through the Women's Programme, Secretary of State. It has a publication list of 18 titles, all at very inexpensive prices.
