Reid explores what might happen in the event of a decision by Quebec to separate from Canada. Reid's premise is that Canada is not the first country forced to address separatism and the process of partition. He reviews the experiences of several other cases: the partition of Ireland in 1921; the Swiss example of the Jura Partition of 1979; the Croatian partituion of 1991. Reid evaluates several possible models for the partition of Quebec following a vote to secede.
