{1} These notes were written at a time when the Soviets were being restored in Kharkov. The city, which had been occupied by Petlyura, was liberated by the Soviet troops on January 3, 1919.
{2} The question of sending people to Kharkov was discussed at a meeting of the Council of Defence on January 17 and 27, 1919.
