Purpose: The Labour Education Centre was founded in 1987 by union activists from the Toronto and York Region Labour Council who believed in the power of learning to transform the lives of working people. Our mission today is to help build the capacity of unions to plan, develop and conduct training, adjustment and labour education programs that transform the lives of individual members and build the strength, solidarity and equity of their unions.
