Desperate Situation in GazaLetter to the Editor, August 2006 Carolynne Wheeler’s article August 12 [2006] on the crisis in Gaza gave some welcome attention to the desperate situation there. A group of over 100 Canadian health professionals have signed a statement expressing deep concern about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza that has been rapidly worsening the last couple of months. This was sent to all MPs in this country and has not received any response. What is wrong with us as Canadians, as human beings, that we cannot take a stand that is purely about being humanitarian?
