This book examines both imported and home-brewed versions of 'nativist" and fascist politics from the 1930's and 1940's in Canada. The book details the Klu Klux Klan efforts to establish the 49th parallel; Adrien Arcand's efforts to found a fascist party; and Italian and German diplomats attemting to stir up support for Hitler and Mussolini in Canadian ethnic communities.
