Newspaper dedicated to promoting participation of all Christians in the Apostolate of the Church.

Abstract:
Unity is a newspaper published monthly by Benedict Labre House to promote participation of all Christians in the Apostolate of the Church. It is dedicated to recording works that foster awareness of the practical implications of the Gospel message. The spring issue is dedicated to St. Benedict Labre, a beggar, searcher, social misfit and mystic. The main story is a study of his life's search for contemplative solitude. Other articles look at practical asceticism in modern life, an analysis of the New International Economic Order, life at Labre and Patricia House.
One report questions whether the Y.W.C.A. is Christian or Capitalist in contracting 105 beds to Olympic Games Organising Committee and thus depriving area low income and disadvantaged women of usual shelter. There is an open letter from an inmate protesting his arbitrary transfer, Amnesty requests for two prisoners of conscience, United Farm Workers Boycott News and Book and Film reviews.
