Abstract:
A new apprenticeship program in rural Saskatchewan is designed to teach people the skills they need to work for the creation of a socially and ecologically sustainable society. The Rural Apprenticeship Program in Social Ecology (RAPSE) emphasizes a bioregional response to global problems in a residential work-study program. Cost of the 12-month program is $400 - $800 for tuition, plus approximately four hours of work per week in exchange for room and board.
