Produced by the American Library Association's Social Responsibilities Round Table on Alternatives in Print, this volume is intended to help librarians identify alternative publications. Rather than attempt to produce a list of alternative publications directly, which would have been too massive a task for the Round Table, this booklet lists directories, review publications, indexes, and bibliographies which regularly cover the alternative press. Given this objective, this is a useful resource, and librarians who want to get more of such materials into their libraries -- or individuals or groups who want to urge their library to do so -- can refer to this publication to help them find appropriate materials.
