Abstract: 
The CANADIAN WOMEN'S MUSIC AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL takes place annually in Winnipeg's Kildonan Park on Labour Day weekend. Women from across Canada present music, visual arts, poetry, prose, theatre and dance.

The festival -- the second -- featured in wide variety of music including jazz, soul, Inuit, rock, reggae, blues, Newfoundland traditions, punk, prairie folk, and Franco-Saskatchewan. the program also included a Native group portraying Indian legends with puppets, a modern dance company, comics, Metis stroytelling, children's stories to an African drumbeat, traditional African dance and crafts.

Ticket prices range from $7 to $10 per day with $20 weekend fee. A seniors and advance discount was available. A desciptive folder is available.

Performers have include Alanis Obomsawin, Rita MacNeil, Maara Haas, Nancy White, Connie Kaldor, Lillian Allan, Heather Bishop, Contemporary Dancers, Sheila Gostick, Dorothy Livesay, and Karen Howe.
