Abstract:
The Canadian Network for El Salvador Solidarity (CNESS) - Le Reseau PanCanadien de Solidarite avec Le Salvador is the coordination and communications network of the 86 Canadian committees of solidarity with El Salvador. It was formed at the January, 1982 meeting in Ottawa of committees acros Canada. Its goal is to provide information, share resources and coordinate activities. There are monthly mailings.
While individual committees are very different in character and style of work, they al support the FDR/FMLN in El Salvador . As of now, committees in five Canadian regions are creating their own structures in preparation for a meeting of representatives from each region (some time in late May or June, 1982). This meeting will lead to the formation of a decision-making group for the network.
CNESS is also a member of the World Front of Solidarity with El Salvador, formed in March, 1982 by delegates from 24 countries, and led by Dr. Bill Zimmerman, head of the U.S. Medical Aid to El Salvador program.

This organization no longer exists.
