In fact, we may have to go back to Theodore Roosevelt's creation of the nation of Panama out of Colombia in 1903 to find an appropriate comparison.... This interference into the internal affairs of Venezuela is a clear violation of the sovereignty of Venezuela and international laws such as the charters of both the United Nations and the Organization of American States.
