Excerpt:

Bolivia continues to rank among those countries in Latin America where women die most frequently owing to causes related to pregnancy. Those affected most by this epidemic of death are women from rural areas who have an indigenous heritage and few economic resources.

Primitivo Condori, farmer and cattle drover, lost his first wife, Rosa, when she gave birth to their son. The baby survived. Together with Primitivo, visit the tombstone where Rosa now rests in peace and learn her story.
