Report on the use of video tape to facilitate Chinese community's role in shaping the direction of their community.
Abstract: Video tape recordings were used in 1973 to help the Chinese community explore their feelings about the redevelopment of Edmonton's Chinatown. This is a report on that effort. The project was funded by the Secretary of State and the report examines and evaluates the work of the three staff. Each major stage of the project is described and evaluated from developing initial contacts to community meetings. The report concludes that video was an effective tool for facilitating community dialogue and enabling the Chinese speaking community to play a greater role in shaping the direction of their community.
