Abstract:
Development Education in Action (DEA) is a program with Senior Adults, many of whom are retired. One of the major issues the DEA project deals with is aging. The project has produced two slide-tape shows on aging: These Old Ones and In Our Own Homes. They can be used as educating resources with elementary and secondary school classes, as well as in community college and university courses.

DEA has recently developed a kit called Education Kit For The Study Of Growing Older: Canadian Resources On Aging. This curriculum material also deals with issues around aging. These resources are designed for use in elemental and secondary schools.

The kit includes printed materials on issues and life experiences of old people, quiz sheets, film and book lists, songs and poems of the stages of human development and pictures relating to the later years of life. Suggestions for its use have been prepared so that teachers will have some ideas for classroom activities, and uses for the material in other courses.
