Abstract:
This is an innovative book on land use management. Honachefsky, professional planner and environmentalist shows us how to avoid the scourge of modern land use-urban sprawl. He argues that by going back to the municipal level we can avoid the promulgation of more state and federal laws, rules and regulations that hinder the efforts of communities to effectively deal with land use. Instead of creating an ecologically destructive, unsustainable and visually unappealing pattern of land use the municipal plan would have dominance over zoning to preserve the ecological infrastructure.
