A list of proposals for reducing the school drop-out rate.

Abstract:
This paper develops a list of proposals for reducing the school drop-out rate. Its primary concern is with students from low income families, who represent the largest group of drop-outs. There are proposals about curriculum, climate or technique in the classroom, space and location for learning, organization of the schoolday and year and characteristics of specific target groups for the proposal. The proposals call for changes in the marking systems, attitude of administration, student participation and other such avenues. The authors suggest that "a department within the school board ... test our recommendations."
