Local community newspaper covers local and national issues and events.

Abstract:  This local community newspaper covers both local and national issues and events.
In this issue, it urges Canadians to pressure the Federal Government to grant sanctuary to Leonard Pelletier, an american Indian accused of murder in the States, because he is "being persecuted for his political ideals". The paper's editorial makes a hard-hitting critique of the Bennett government and concludes: "Their credo seems to be to take from the poor and give to the rich". The other short articles are generally a critique of various aspects of our society - our sense of alienation, the role of housewives in our socio-economic system, the politics of daycare and the need for prison reform.
