Bibliography of case studies involving community/social planning and action.

Abstract:  An Annotated Bibliography of Canadian Case Studies is an access guide to information. It is useful to persons studying and working in: community education, community organization, community development, social action organizations, citizens' organizations, voluntary service agencies, social planning councils, government departments, researchers, field workers and professionals involved in community participation.
People are becoming more involved in 'citizen action' in order to participate directly in the decision making process. Case studies are the reports of these efforts to bring about change. They provide a sharing of experiences -- a valuable aspect of the information gathering and evaluation process. The case studies listed range from two page journalistic articles to five hundred page books. 131 entries are contained in the work, making it the most comprehensive bibliography in its field. The subject index reflects the wide range of citizen action case studies now available.
An essay entitled "How to Write a Case Study" is included with this bibliography in order to encourage others to exchange the knowledge and share the experiences gained during their own involvement in efforts to change their environment.
