Resistance & Remembrance

December 06, 2014

On December 6th, 1989 fourteen women (13 of them engineering students) were gunned down at L'Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal simply because they were women.

This event is a statement of resistance and remembrance for survivors/victims of gender-based violence. Come join us for a silent sit in at Younge and Dundas Square in remembrance for L'Ecole Polytechnique and in resistance against gender-based violence December 6th 2014.

Canada now marks December 6th as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women to honour the lives lost and to renew a commitment to end violence against women.
