Abstract: Margaret Benston, a professor of computer science and women's studies who was known for her work promoting women's liberation, died earlier this year of cancer. Margaret Benston authored the influential article, "The Political Economy of Women's Liberation", published in 1969, and helped found the Women's Study program at Simon Fraser University.
