Abstract: 
This is a report of the event "Focus on the Waterfront" prepared by the Nova Scotia Division of the Community Planning Association of Canada (CPAC-NS). It was prepared to serve two purposes: 1. To report back to the participants in the event (or those who are concerned and interested in the future redevelopment of the Dartmouth and Halifax waterfronts), the outcome of the day's discussion and exchange of information; and 2. To report to the Ministry of State for Urban Affairs on the event and CPAC-NS's interpretation of local opinion which is relevant to the Recommendations for National Action (adopted by the federal government at the United Nations Conference on Human Settlement-Habitat).

The bulk of the report contains information generated at the Focus on the Waterfront meeting. It also includes some of the discussion that took place. The report is not a word-for-word record, but gives the reader an idea of what was discussed during the event.
