Synthesis is the journal of the Canadian News Synthesis Project. Previously known as the Canadian News Synthesis Project (1974 - 1976), Synthesis analyzes and presents current news coverage of the most important economic, political and cultural forces in Canadian Society, using major newspapers from across the country.
February 1979 issue.

Abstract:
This issue highlights coverage on Bank of Canada President Gerald Bouey, Finance Minister Jean Chretien and Energy Minister Alastair Gillespie's wish for Canada to export more natural gas to US; how the government wants to export gas to US to boost Canadian dollar and help Canada's balance of payments; 1979 may be a record year for labour disputes; a recent study by the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education calls into question some of the assumptions the media and governments have made on how the public views education.
