Transformative Labour Organizing in Precarious Times: Rethinking Strategy, Enforcement and Education

July 15, 2018 to July 18, 2018

The Research Committee on Labour Movements (RC44) in collaboration with the Workers' Action Centre invite you to join a series of public discussions about transformative organizing efforts taking place in Canada, South Africa, South Korea and the United States and globally that are rethinking how to build movement power from the ground up. We will hear from leading organizers and scholar-activists about efforts to raise minimum wages and improve employment standards' enforcement; build and strengthen domestic workers' movements at the local, national, regional and global scales; secure migrant labour and human rights and status for all people; democratize unions and promote rank-and-file leadership and education; and ensure food sovereignty and climate justice.
